A born performer, Atlanta has been singing since she can remember + having recently ended a career as a samba dancer, is back where she belongs. Behind a microphone. After providing backing vocals for many artists (Davi Vieira, Kaissa, Big Brooklyn Red, Eliana Marcia + Banda Azul), she finds herself fronting Grupo Krioulo, returning to her roots of Cape Verde + the styles of Brasil. With roots also in American Soul + various characteristics from Cape Verde, her musical interpretations are presented beautifully through her contralto as she portrays the music she loves.
Her voice has been recognised by Cirque du Soleil, who added her to their roster of performers in 2000 + she has performed in many venues in NYC + across the world. Grupo Krioulo has had the prestigious honour as premier entertainment of the New York Women's Foundation Gala, has performed at Alvin Ailey + provided live music for the SUNY Purchase Choreographer's Lab. Most recently, she was a featured performer in residence at the luxurious Shilla Hotel in Jeju Island, South Korea. In the Northeast, she's graced the stage at Pawtucket's 10 Rocks, Rockwood Music Hall+ Joes Pub in New York City.
